What is SSWGBSNY?

The Society of the Second War with Great Britain in the State of New York is a society of male descendants of the American Veterans of the War of 1812. SSWGBSNY was originally established in 1896.

The Society of the Second War with Great Britain in the State of New York is a State Society of the
General Society of the War of 1812.

What Do We Do?

We honor the memories and victories of the American Veterans. We do this by promoting the preservation of rolls, records, books, and other documents relating to that period. We also encourage research and publication of historical data, including memorials of patriots of that era in our National history. We care for and keep green the grave sites and monuments of the veterans of that struggle; as well as to cherish, maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom ,and foster true patriotism and love of country.
