Kelsey Bridge Cemetery Dedication

kelsey

On Wednesday, October 2, 2013 there was a ceremony to help honor and remember all of those whose remains rest at Kelsey Bridge Cemetery. It was attended by representative descendants of most of the families named on the stones (Evans, Morgan, Barrett, Hinman). The graves of Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War veterans will be recognized. Also to be honored will be the soldiers’ extended families who suffered epidemics, fires, accidents and other tribulations while attempting to carve out a simple existence in the then rugged frontier.

This event was sponsored by the Rochester, Syracuse and Oriskany Battlefield Chapters of The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), It was also sponsored by the LeRay de Chaumont Chapter of the NSDAR, the General Jacob Brown Chapter of the United States Daughters of 1812 and was further supported by the Niagara Frontier Chapter of The Society of the Second War with Great Britain in the State of New York. The Alexandria Bay American Legion John B. Lyman Post 904 provided a color guard of our nation’s flag.
